Influenza is a viral infection that attacks the Respiratory system and is commonly known as the flu. With the advent of the various viral infections, it is best to have prevention with the help of herd vaccination. Hence, a Flu Vaccination activity was done in Barangay Camul last January 16-17, 2020 per request of the Senior Citizens of Barangay Camul. The group requested for 80 vaccines for the Senior Citizens and was fortunately supplied with 200 vaccines. Priority was given to all available and accessible Senior Citizens in the barangay. Furthermore, near-Senior Citizens and some adults who plays a vital role in the community were also vaccinated to include Barangay Tanods, Barangay Health Workers, Barangay Officials, Camul Elementary School Teachers as well as the assigned Medical Students from Ateneo de Zamboanga. An Orientation was conducted by the Medical Students wherein Health Teaching was conducted followed by distribution of Consents for Vaccinations then the Vaccination Proper. All vaccinated individuals were given their own individual Flu Vaccination Cards. Extra vaccines were endorsed to the local Tampilisan Rural Health Unit and was distributed to other barangays with Medical Students and was administered to their local Senior Citizens.
