Thursday, 4TH of July, 2019

The 2nd year medical students from ADZU-SOM, who are assigned at Barangay Camul, Tampilisan, joined in the opening program of the Nutrition Month.

After the opening prayer and National anthem, the opening remarks were given by a teacher of Camul Elementary School, Mrs. Nilda Luchana.

One of the medical students, Ms. Danina Eunice Chavez,as the guest speaker of the program, gave a speech about this Nutrition Month’s theme “Kumain ng wasto at maging aktibo… push natin ‘to” using the example Daniel from the Bible to push the message that proper nutrition and an active lifestyle improves not only health but also performance and overall well-being.

The Officer-in-Charge, Mrs. Carmelita Bunac gave the inspirational speech, in the absence of the principal, Mr. Ivan Napigkit, encouraging the students to take to heart the message of the speaker and to continue to eat more nutritious foods like vegetables and fruits.

A video: Integrated Approach to Disaster Risk Management was presented to the students of Camul Elementary School in line with the National Disaster Resilience Month celebration. The video discussed 5 steps to be able to be better prepared in the face of a disaster namely: prevention, addressing residual risk, preparing, responding and recovering.

A poster making contest was held to culminate the program. Two representatives were chosen from each grade level to participate: one to base on the theme of the Nutrition Month and the other one for National Disaster Resilience Month.
