January 2018 was our very first exposure when we first found out Barangay Camul doesn't have a barangay health station. As medical students we were immediately drawn to this situation. As we did our first house-to- house survey, a lot of people from Camul complained not having their own health station. Despite this, the people tried their very best to seek medical attention and receive basic health services from the RHU and different hospitals far from Tampilisan but some could not afford to.

It has been Camul's number 1 priority that all the people could afford at least the basic services of a health station and since then we never stopped communicating, facilitating and lobbying different agencies to make it all happen.

We were supposed to be back to Camul for our 4th year exposure, but due to the pandemic, we were not able to go back. Despite the situation, the community mobilized to get things done and to renovate a structure not in use to a health station. With the technology of today, communication and coordination with the barangay officials were smooth.

As of the moment, the health station is now on it's finishing stages. We are now in the process of procurement of equipment and supplies to make it a functional one.

We are so proud of this feat and especially with the people of Camul for making it all possible.
