Making things Happen with Camul

It's been more than a year now since our last visit with Barangay Camul. With the pandemic still on going, limited movements and precautionary methods, we've managed to ensure communication with the people in the community with the help of technology and determination. Despite the circumstances, we've managed along with Camul. We made do of what we have.

Data gathering was our main agenda for the past few months. In normal circumstances, we conduct house to house survey. We would walk around with umbrellas, medical kit, survey tool, meter stick, weighing scale and our packed lunch. We would knock on 300+ houses, welcomed by the host or sometimes by he loud barking of dogs. This activity has always been a must for us to monitor the progress of the efforts and projects. But with the pandemic and us not being allowed to go back to Camul, we decided to harness the power of technology and merge it with Camul's will to achieve progress. We asked for a few of the residents' help to conduct the survey for us using an electronic survey tool which can transmit results real-time, of course while observing proper safety guidelines. With their help, we were able to gather the data we needed.

Aside from data gathering, the team sent packages to Camul containing basic medical kit for vital signs taking, signages, health information dissemination materials. These materials will be used in the new Barangay Health Station and by our barangay health workers. Additional instructions and updates regarding the projects were also conveyed Our communication with the people of Camul has been constant ever since.

Surely, with the right mindset, technology, skills and bayanihan, we made things possible. We make things happen.
